The Denver VOICE is so much more than a publication—it’s a lifeline for people on the edges of society. Over the years, this incredible paper has directly helped people transition out of housing instability, providing low-barrier job opportunities that offer not just income, but a pathway to independence and hope. For many vendors, it’s a vital stepping stone, enabling them to earn a modest but consistent income. Nearly 70% of vendors report feeling a renewed sense of purpose through their work, and over half have experienced improvements in their housing stability and financial literacy as a result of their time with The Denver VOICE.

This publication is committed to creating a community that values inclusivity and respect, offering individuals facing housing and financial challenges a supportive platform to connect, share their journeys, and find a sense of belonging. Through these personal stories, The Denver VOICE amplifies voices that are too often marginalized, bridging the gap between at-risk individuals and the broader community. It doesn’t just inform; it engages and educates, encouraging readers to step into the lives of those they may otherwise overlook, fostering greater empathy and awareness.

For me, contributing to The Denver VOICE has been a deeply meaningful part of my life’s work. I’m profoundly grateful to have had the opportunity to spotlight change-makers like Mo Betta Green on the August cover—an issue that highlights the interconnectedness of food security, health, and community resilience. Seeing my feature on the cover represents a full-circle moment in my years-long journey with The Denver VOICE, celebrating not just individuals but the power of community itself.
