The current administration isn’t interested in true diversity. Their idea of a unified nation is one where everyone falls in line, where “equality” means conformity rather than justice. But real justice doesn’t mean treating everyone the same—it means recognizing differences and addressing them fairly. They want us all to be on the same team, but that’s impossible when there are too many different teams with their own values, beliefs, and practices.

The truth is, most of us aren’t billionaires who can influence elections. Ordinary people don’t have police escorts or executive powers to shield them from consequences. We are drowning in debt, forced to carry liability insurance, and struggling under the weight of rent that is still too damn high. The distinction is clear: wealth and power grant protection, while the rest of us are left to navigate a system designed to keep us in place.

There is no blurred line between privilege and oppression—between those who are protected and those who are criminalized. I can’t help but think of the people being held in immigration detention centers across the country—including right here in Colorado—many facing due process violations and inhumane conditions.
